What is OptiCat?
OptiCat is a supplier-driven industry data repository and a suite of technology tools that enable the accurate and real-time delivery of application and attribute data. Its Do It Once (DIO) approach to data delivery enables suppliers to deliver critical data to one location in one format. DIO also enables data receivers to go to one place to access all their respective data needs in a single format.
AASA’s Involvement
OptiCat’s model provides the ownership and responsibility for accurate and timely data delivery to aftermarket suppliers. AASA/MEMA recognizes this and has an equity position with OptiCat LLC to ensure the interests of suppliers (and indirectly their channel partners) are represented. Two association executives sit on the OptiCat board of directors, and AASA helps OptiCat coordinate communications and media relations, events, webinars, go-to-market strategies, user group meetings and other strategic activities.
Industry Involvement
The following two committees help provide input to OptiCat to ensure the architecture, software, formats and interfaces are user friendly and meet the needs of users.
- OptiCat Customer Advisory Committee (OCAC) – Comprised of leading channel partners or channel partner organizations, the OCAC reviews the customer interface and data output functions and advises OptiCat programmers on how to improve these areas.
- OptiCat Supplier Advisory Committee (OSAC) – Comprised of supplier catalog and technology managers, many of which represent the AASA Technology Council (ATC), this group reviews the supplier interface and input functions and advises OptiCat programmers on how to improve these areas.
